FYP Done For Good ;)

Container Depot,NorthPort
In case if you were wondering, FYP stands for Final Year Project and mine is done once and for all of my degree life. Something happy to say after spending almost a year of effort, sweat and blood conducting detailed research on ISO 9001:2008. Yeah, you guys could have probably heard it all over the place and trust me,if the college/university you're studying in has no ISO certification, then there is no point for you to continue studying there despite all the great courses offered and same goes with all those multinational companies and organizations as well. You are not certified by ISO 9001,then you just lose the perks to compete with other certified companies/organization.
Me and my partner, both conducting research on ISO 9001 but under different discipline

So yeah,Shahirah is the name of my partner and she was conducting her research on marine service providers (Freight Forwarding,Warehousing,Logistics) while I was conducting mine on marine construction (Shipbuilding/Offshore structure construction) whereby we had to choose specific companies to distribute questionnaire's and benchmark them in terms of quality performance. This later is summarized and extracted into our report which will then be printed and turned into reference for future students. Lucky one's will also be chosen to represent their research in certain events such as LIMA 2013 to which a senior of mine attended to present her research which was also on ISO 9001:2008.

Our FYP is divided into 2 separate division which are FYP1 and FYP2. FYP1 is conducted from the campus itself whereby we need to search for journals supporting our research and come up with plannings for FYP2 while FYP2 is whereby we are sent out into the real world for data/information seeking. It may sound fun but trust me,it ain't fun at all. Remember hauling ass all the way from Lumut to Klang for 2 months straight and ended up getting the typical attitude- 'Orang x de la adik','Boss Cuti la adik' and bla bla bla as the list goes on.....

The first ever company to respond to my questionnaire's.Located in Kapar,Klang
The companies that I've chosen were not so bad in terms of attitude but my partner was not so lucky though :( Few of the company especially IP logistics located in Pandamaran,Klang was not being professional at all when it comes to business nor public relation, none of the employee know respect and there was no willingness for them to know about the research we were conducting and the positive changes it might bring. Chased out but what surprises me is that multinational companies like MISC with international recognition's decided to keep us waiting for 2 hours under the scorching Sun!!! (Pulau Indah heat is much more intense compared to Port Klang heat) and at last we were not entertained and chased out by some Bangla's eventhough we were wearing unifroms representing where we are from. Karma is a Bitch they say and guess what??? The company is facing financial crisis and might close shop sooner or later....hahaha,serves you right Bro :D

Selat Melaka shipyard,a subsidiary under InaiKiara Sdn Bhd
Everything was collected including the questionnaires sent in the early stages and few other documents which needs to processed and transformed into the report. It took quite a number of time for us to interpret the data and keyed it into the SPSS system. For those of you whom dont know anything about SPSS,it's a software made by IBM just to make your life harder in terms of statistics :P It took us just 2 weeks to find out the mean and correlation, now you know SPSS can be such a pain in the ass right? :P Glad all was done, obtained result and included it into the report.

Supervisor gave us a green light and asked us to proceed with the finals stages which was presentation in front of experienced panels. Everything went well despite panels getting changed at the last minute and them bombarding me with out of the box questions.Answered each and every question back like a BOSS!!! ;) It's done for ever, report printed and sent over that day itself....came back just to prepare myself for next weeks finals paper and yes I know,I haven't began anything yet :P
