It was just a normal trip which turned out to be devotional trip out of a sudden. Won a pile of
cash money and within few hours, planned a trip to Penang out of a sudden, rented a Perodua Kelisa for RM80 and departed to Penang that midnight itself. FYI,we also went over for Tamil New Year celebration which fell on 14 April 2013 this year and yeah I know this is quite an outdated post but no harm in bringing back the past right?

Departed from Sitiawan around 12.50am after filling up with fuel, stopping by R&R Gunung Semanggol for a cup of early morning teh tarik and reached the beginning of the Penang Bridge around 2.40am....Mind you,I was speeding at approximately 140-150km/h all the way from Taiping to Butterworth,a normal slow drive will consume around 2 hours+. Payed toll which costs RM7 back and forth from the island which seems to be worth it :)

| The road was smooth with no traffic at all |
Floored the pedal all the way to Georgetown and reached Litte India/Lebuh King around 45 mins later due to not being familiar with the alleys of Penang island. Queens Street Mahamariamman temple was still closed and later I realized that I was too early there which was around 4am! Too early I would say but having extra time means that I could spend it exploring other alleys as well. Went over to Penang Esplanade to catch a quick bite and nap on the roadside since my Priya was sound asleep or else I would have called her and tortured her. This my friend's is how you kill TIME!
Drove over to Air Hitam in search of the famous Bukit Bendera and Waterfall Road Murugan Temple and guess what? The GPS brought us right into a village with road spanning only 1 metre from left to right, one wrong move and your car could end up in the ditch and continued driving all the way into a dead end, made a three point turn ( which was more than three to be exact ) and drove back the same way I made it back there. Found the temple at last and it was just in time before the 1st pooja which was around 5.30am.

First pooja down the hill was done,my partner decided to meditate for awhile so I was exploring the nearby attractions while he was meditating. Once done with his meditation,we quickly hiked the hill to it's famous attraction of all which is Hilltop Murugan Temple. The temple was so beautifully constructed that my jaws literally dropped. The marbles were shining bright under the chandelier and believe me,the front door is almost 3 stories high!

It was an awesome experience since after so long, this was one of the moment I've waited for which was hiking Hilltop all alone early in the morning and I succeeded =D. The picture below shows a 6.45am shot from Hilltop and the view was breathtaking. Whole Georgetown visible to your eyes in the wake of sunrise. Was cold too since the presence of fog.

Finally, drove all the way to Ayer Itam to the ever famous Bukit Bendera as it's a must visit site if you ever plan on invading Penang :P Could not take a single picture at all since GPS application on my phone completely drained the power out of my phone but thank God my partner brought along his HTC Flyer as a precaution should any of our gadgets fail.

That was all, to sum up my devotional trip to Penang. Went down Bukit Bendera, floored the pedal all the way over to Little India to grab lunch. Lunch as usual was South Indian food served on top of a banana leaf. Lunch amounted to RM20 for 2 person and trust me,the portion that we consumed were huge enough to feed 4 person ;) All ready planning for my next trip which would be the state of Kedah Darul Aman or Perlis which is near to the border of Thailand. Hopefully, might be able to fulfill my dreams and plan by the end of this year. Till then, see yah!
